Improving Primate Conservation through Community Involvement
WHEREAS many nonhuman primates are negatively affected by human activities that result in destruction of their habitat and fragmentation of their populations; and
WHEREAS conservation of nonhuman primate populations requires the trust and support of the local human population;
The International Primatological Society therefore RECOMMENDS:
- THAT when conducting primate field studies, researchers consider including some provision for Conservation through Community Involvement.
