Sober announcement for IPS-PCTP China 2027

Dear all, 

We are thrilled to announce that the application process for the IPS Pre-Congress Training Program is now open for application (please click the following link for access to access to application form: Application form). The deadline for applications is Monday August 17th, 2026 and applicants will be informed of the results by the end of September 2026. 

The PCTP-IPS 2027 will take place in China from the 10^th-16^th August 2027. All successful applicants will then have the opportunity to attend the 31st Congress of the International Primatological Society which will be held in in Xi’an, China, after the PCTP program.

Eligibility criteria:

• Must be citizens of primate habitat countries
• Must be actively working with (or studying) primate species in their country 
• Must be relatively “new” in their careers (although no age limit is imposed)
• Cannot have attended a previous IPS PCTP
• Must have good enough level of English to follow training program which will be delivered in English
